We cater for all age groups and pride ourselves as a friendly and approachable practice, in a pretty and tranquil setting. Our premises consist of an old villa which has been fully converted to a modern health centre set in landscaped gardens. With all the changes happening in the medical community, we would like to assure all our patienst and future patients that we will not for following the trend of amalgamating with others into a super clinic, we intend to stay as a family practice with your own family GP
We are fully computerised and keep up with the ever changing demands on up to date technology and equipment
The way we care for your medical needs are important to us, we would like to know your thoughts, be it critical or complimentary. We have provided a suggestion box in the waiting room for any comments.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP US HELP YOU
Enrolment and issues that may arise:
Patients are reminded that that if they attend other clinics for a one off consultation they must inform the clinic that they are attended as a casual patient, it has become apparent that patients are signing enrolment forms at after hour clinics without informed knowledge. When this happens you are automatically removed from being a patient at Dodson Medical and become a patient at the clinic where you attended for medical care. Unfortunately when this happens the government ceases to fund you at Dodson Medical and your funding is transferred to the other clinic. This then means that we cannot offer you a reduced fee. All of the above is completely out of the control of Dodson Medical. The other issue with funding being stopped by the MOH is when a patient has not been consulted at the practice for a general medical condition (excluding ACC) within the past 3 years, it is a requirement for us to get our patients to re enrol before this date so that we can continue to charge the funded rate, this is annoying for the patient and time consuming for the practice, but unfortunately we have no alternative. It has to be a signed form
Making appointments:
When making an appointment, should you have more than one condition that you would like to discuss with the Doctor, we would appreciate you mentioning this at the time of making the appointment, this will help prevent the Doctor from running late, for their next unwell patient, who are waiting to be see.
Should you have an appointment on a very tight time schedule, you may call us to see how the doctor’s time is going. Please bear in mind that the information given to you can change. Due to unforeseen circumstances, neither the reception nor the doctors are aware as to what each patient is going to present with.
Like wise if you are running late would you please let us know. This gives the receptionist time to either reshuffle patients or make you another appointment. If you cannot make it to an appointment please give us a call, we can make use of any appointment that is cancel
